Men spend billions of dollars every year to look at naked or scantily-clad women. By comparison, women spend virtually nothing to see unclothed men. What’s going on?

Key Points:

  • Socialized objectification is an issue, but not the only issue. Men are taught to objectify women, but this puts the horse before the cart: men are also more naturally inclined to think this way.
  • Biology plays an important role in sexual attraction. Men are more easily stimulated by what they see than women are. Simply seeing an attractive woman can lead to sexual arousal for a straight man.
  • Women need to understand that businesses and advertisers seek to make money and gain attention through the female form. They understand how men think and want to capitalize financially.
  • Men need to understand this as well, but they still need to take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. Biological predispotion is not an excuse for any immoral or illegal behavior.
  • Understand how your social experience, as well as your biology, affect your thoughts and behavior

Quote This:

I cannot, on my life, determine what my fragmented culture wants me to think. I am to desire sex all the time, like an animal. I am to freely joke about and share my arousal with others in order to demonstrate my proper idolization of Sex. But at the moment of action I am to suddenly become a rational agent and seek legal consent. -Brad Fruhauff
