For better or for worse, believing something about yourself and projecting it to people around you will become a cycle of reality.
Talking Points:
- Good or bad, we believe things about ourselves and project those things on to those around us. This causes others to actually treat you this way and in turn causes you to believe it more and more until it becomes a part of your identity.
- This cycle could be for the better. You might be projecting the things you and others should believe about you: that you are talented, smart, skilled, and ultimately worthy of love.
- It could be for the worse. You could believe toxic messages and lies. This “stinkin’ thinkin’ ” could begin cycling back on itself, making things worse and worse. If you act worthless, you’re eventually going to meet people who are happy to oblige this false worthlessness and will take advantage of your so-called “weakness.”
